Basil Tips

Plant basil in a sunny spot with well-draining soil. Water regularly, allowing the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. Fertilize sparingly to avoid overwhelming the plants with nitrogen. Pinch off flower buds to promote leaf growth and prevent the plant from becoming woody. Harvest basil by snipping off leaves as needed, which will also encourage bushier growth.
