Defeating Slugs in Your Garden

Place barriers like copper tape or diatomaceous earth around vulnerable plants to keep slugs away. Encourage natural slug predators like birds and frogs by adding a birdbath or small pond to your garden. Set out beer traps to lure and drown slugs. Handpick slugs during dusk and dawn when they are most active. Apply iron phosphate bait to kill slugs without harming other wildlife.
