Fertilizing Succulents

Fertilize succulents sparingly during their active growing season in spring and summer using a diluted, balanced fertilizer. Avoid fertilizing during the dormant winter months as succulents require less nutrients during this time. Apply fertilizer to the soil around the base of the plants, keeping it away from the leaves to prevent burning. Water succulents before fertilizing to avoid root damage from dry soil. Use a low-nitrogen fertilizer to promote healthy growth and vibrant colors in succulents.
